Description : The stripes on the Colombia tricolour flag are not evenly sized. The yellow stripe at the top is double width, and underneath is a stripe of blue and one of red. It was adopted way back in 1861. The yellow stands for wealth (referring to gold, as well as its diverse people and nature), the blue for water and the red for the blood spilled during the fight for independence.
